About me
Data in my head, cottages in my heart.
My name is Matěj Loub and I help owners of cottages, apartments and holiday homes improve their presentation, bookings and overall performance.
Professionally, I have spent a long time working with data and business intelligence. I enjoy finding patterns in numbers, understanding what is really happening and turning it into concrete steps that make practical sense. At the same time, I have always been drawn to mountains, cottages, renovations and real estate. The connection of these two worlds is what brought me to short-term rentals.
Real estate and short-term rentals are more than work for me
Time spent in the mountains has always meant more to me than just a holiday. The atmosphere of a place, the smell of wood, a good view, simplicity and the feeling that you want to come back. That is why I have long been interested in why some properties work very well while others, often very nice ones, stay below their real potential.
I study short-term rentals from different angles: books, podcasts, trainings, videos and case studies. But it is not only theory. I rent, renovate and help people around me set up, present and manage their accommodation better.
When I travel, I often choose accommodation through Airbnb or Booking.com. Not only because I want to relax, but also because I enjoy observing how different owners think about space, atmosphere and the overall guest experience. Every stay gives me new ideas and inspiration.
It may be a professional habit, but even on holiday I notice details: how arrival works, how descriptions are written, what feels cozy, what small things delight guests and what unnecessarily harms the overall impression.
I believe small changes can have a big impact
Over time, I realized that the combination of data, a relationship with real estate and practical experience with guests can be useful for other owners too.
I often see very nice properties with much more potential than they show online. Not because they are bad, but because their presentation does not reveal their real strengths.
Sometimes better photo order helps. Other times it is clearer copy, pricing strategy, distribution or a simple website. It does not always require expensive renovations or large investments. Often, a few sensible changes can make a real difference.
I do not want to turn every cottage into a hotel product. I try to find what is unique about each place, where bookings are being lost unnecessarily and how to better show what the property already offers.
A practical view instead of marketing phrases
I am not a large agency and I do not hand out universal advice from a distance.
I work with data and analysis professionally, while also being close to real estate and having my own experience with short-term rentals. That helps me connect the view of the guest, the owner and the numbers.
I approach every property individually, without universal templates and without pressure to choose big solutions at any cost. My goal is not to find faults, but to uncover unused potential and turn it into concrete recommendations that make sense for that specific property.
I believe the owner knows their property best. I simply try to bring a fresh view, inspiration and help show its strengths more clearly.
